NEW TOYOTA YARIS 2006-2014 DRUM BRAKES REAR AXLE SUBFRAME 42110-0D140

Overall, the quality of this rear axle sub-frame was good. Unfortunately, it was just let down by some minor defects.

1) The two welded-on brakeline brackets were badly folded over (see attached photos). Presumably this was caused during transit. The brackets are vulnerable to impact, and needed protecting better when the item was packaged. I did manage to straighten them out and give them a coat of paint, but it was an additional job that I could have done without.

2) The eight threaded holes for the rear bearing assembly hubs were not formed properly. The genuine Toyota bolts were extremely tight, to the point where it is impossible to assemble them without damaging the threads. I eventually managed to resolve the problem by purchasing an M12x1.25 tap to re-cut the threads, but this prevented me from finishing the job on the same day. I think better quality control is required here, and an investigation into what is causing this defect during the manufacturing process.

It's a shame, because if it wasn't for these two issues, I would have definitely given 5 stars. The delivery was very quick, and the price was reasonable.
